Low dose naltrexone (LDN) is naltrexone prescribed at doses between 1.5mg and 4.5mg — far below the standard 50mg dose used for addiction treatment. At these low doses, LDN is being prescribed by a growing number of physicians for its potential anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties. Because no manufacturer produces naltrexone in these low-dose strengths, LDN must be compounded.
